Driving west past Rifle, you’ll pass by Parachute, Rulison, De Beque, and then you’ll pass an exit to Powderhorn and the Grand Mesa, and finally the first Palisade exit. It drops you off onto a Frontage Rd where you can feel the Colorado River for its proximity.
Admire the location, hemmed in by the Grand Mesa to the south, to the west more orchards, to the north Mt. Garfield.
Its sunny, dry, light winds, the river, the irrigation canals, the quaint town, they’re all nearby.
Palisade is the perfect town, in an incredible climate with plenty of outdoor adventures nearby.
Palisade is home to a number of wineries and peach orchards. Palisade peaches are world reknowned for their flavor, textures, and luciousness. If you’re a local, you can arrange visits to pick them yourself.
Mid-August is a great time to explore the peach industry, at the Palisade Peach Fest.
Palisade has beautiful vistas of Mt. Garfield and is also a great place to recreate. The Palisade Rim trail is perfect for enjoying the views on a trail run or mountain bike ride.
