Basalt, Colorado was formerly known as Ute Junction. Here the Frying Pan river meets the Roaring Fork. South east along the Frying Pan will take you to Ruedi Reservoir, which mixes everything there is to love about Colorado. A high mountain lake, a yacht club for sailors, fishing, water sports, camping and peace. Basalt’s downtown reflects its ranch-land heritage. While Basalt is small, the restaurant offerings are mega. Between the farm to table restaurants and the local outdoor market Basalt is a great place to eat local. It also home to the only Whole Foods in the area. Fly fisherman flock here for the gold medal waters. Its rural but there is a bowling alley, a movie theater and a pizza dive.
There is a housing a shopping development called Willits. This area offers a variety of home-styles from lofts above commercial spaces, to duplexes and modern single family homes.
You also may have heard of El Jebel which is a tiny little section of homes, and restaurants.
